If I could give 10 stars, I would. We’ve stayed for 4 nights and we have loved every day of it. The rooms were homely and the most fantastic view. As someone who was very nervous about my first holiday away since covid and also suffering from home sickness, this was perfect. A lovely 15 minute walk from the romantic and cultured town which takes you past the beach, which is a 2 minute drive from the hotel. Room service was quick and professional, having a full change of everything in the time it took us to go to the beach, swim and head back. It’s right next to Tesco, so perfect for any last minute shopping. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was the off-road parking, which there was a lot of and we felt safe leaving our show car in. Road noise was very minimal. Beautiful garden and dining space. Everything about our stay was as romantic and perfect as st Ives itself. Friendly, welcoming, clean and professional.

I had a fantastic stay at St Merryn. The tone was set when I was surprised by the beautiful sea view from my room - for a fortnight I enjoyed staring out of my window every night :--) The value for money of this stay is perfect. It is much cheaper than several places in the area, and so yes - there is no breakfast and the room is not cleaned daily (thank goodness, as that is extremely un-ecological), but the owners are very clear about that from the start. I have never stayed somewhere where the owners were so honest about possible shortcomings like not providing breakfast. I've really only experienced positive things about St Merryn: they have super good coffee, oat milk was provided, the location is extremely convenient in terms of public transport, there's a supermarket on the doorstep, it's right next to a beautiful footpath to St Ives/Carbis Bay, the bed is great, there's a bath/shower (what a luxury to be able to take a bath!), the owner is incredibly helpful, and the terrace is a lovely place to have a (self-serve) breakfast in the sun. What was an occasional challenge was that the internet in the room is not always fast - but the owners were honest about that too & a little slower internet is really no sacrifice for the rest you get for such a reasonable price. I'd love to come back :--)

Myself and my husband stayed here for 4 nights, absolutely loved it, great location for lovely walks to a couple of beaches. Very helpful having Tesco literally a few minutes away, and a lovely pub a very short walk away. All staff was great the owner and her daughter are absolutely lovely people and very happy to help. We will definitely be returning guest

Really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are cozy, very clean and have everything you need. Receptionist gave us a warm welcome. They also have a common fridge and microwave you can use. We had a great view from our room. We could sometimes hear the neighbours talking, but that's because they were very loud. Well worth the price, would recommend staying here!

Lovely stay at St Merryn. Dawn made us feel very welcome. The room was spotless, comfortable bed and stunning sea view. We asked for the room serviced in the middle of of week, which was again cleaned well. Perfect location to Carbis Bay and a short walk to St Ives. The hotel has loads of potential and I would definitely stay again.

Great location. Dawn was very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Being able to use the fridge - freezer downstairs was a big help. Nice garden with a bench & lawns. Bus stops nearby - the bus service is pretty good and reasonably priced, so I didn't need to drive anywhere after the initial long haul there. Riding Cornwall's coast on an open top bus was great. We found it so pleasant and comfortable we decided to stay an extra night instead of going on to a campsite. Pricing was very reasonable too The only downside was easily resolved - A party from Bangladesh in the next room seemed to be particularly loud racing commentators or auctioneers all speaking at volume at once. I wondered if the walls might have been a bit thin. It would probably have been ok for me to ask them to quieten, but instead I drifted off to sleep dreaming that I was back travelling the Indian subcontinent. I had a word with Dawn about it the next day and the next evening they shared their takeaway with me and I didn't hear them at all, so I don't think the walls were that thin. We had a lovely break there and would happily stay again

Great location and the owner has installed decking to the front of the property. However when we were there the bar wasn't open and hardly any guests to be seen. The hotel itself is looking rather tired and our room really wanted modernising. The window had blown and the walls were relatively thin...however the shower was perfect. The owners were in France and the property was being looked after by a nice gentleman and very helpful. Plenty of parking spaces.
